OUR MOTTO

“We play with friends but we don't play friendly game..”

Chronicle of KPMGA

by D. B Matzin

Started its inauguration early in 2006 under the unification of jovial golf nuts who labeled it then as FOM Club, bestowed in honour of senior founding fellow old men (FOM) who were often targets of provocative remarks by their fellow young men (FYM). Ridiculed by 'slanders and insults’ in a number of friendly grueling pastime undermining their capabilities, FOM took the juvenile fellow mates to punishing defeat. Concluded on par if not better hat-trick of victories proved that the old horse still yearns to run....... As more and more FYM joined the club that it began to change its identity. The nuts called it KPMGA to reflect the atmosphere and eccentricity of kampung way of sport. The 'association' grew from a tiny seed to a mighty nut.

If you think, you’re Golf Nut – this will be a venue for you to sprout!!!

Dream of kampung boys....

You will laugh to see this page when one day a KPMGA nut appears on your TV screen in PGA championship tours....ha...ha...

Al Jubail Trophy

Saturday 11th April 2009

The Al Jubail trophy was played with great gusto by the participants even though with black clouds gathering above. Nevertheless, the clouds were blown away leading to some hot spells. There were seven flights with equal number of participants of orange (Asians) and reds (Arabs) even though there were a few that turned up in other colours.....

As usual, the President "changed" the rules prior to tee off as there was no one that understood the rules that were laid down by Dom (Dom, you need to be around next time....;)

The new rules entailed that the match was between the two teams based on stroke play with handicaps confirmed by Tuan President himself that morning and the winning team based on net total score.

Below are the scores of the various flights.

Flight 1
Red - Ali Sajut + Hj Drahman : 172
Orange - Then + Bojeng : 156

Flight 2
Red -Surya + Tang : 155
Orang - Othman + Hj Wahap : 174

Flight 3
Red - Yusuf + Shaiful : 163
Orang - Chong + Wan Azilah : 151

Flight 4
Red - Azahari + Yatim : 157
Orange : Syed Zul + Julai : 169

Flight 5
Red - Feisol + Sha : 155
Orange - Benny + Kassim : 154

Flight 6
Red - Yusri + Amno : 152
Orange - Hj Ahmad + Syed Rosdy : 143

Flight 7
Red - Capt Siva + Hj Ibrahim : 166
Orange - James Lau + Roslan : 168

Total : Red : 1120
Orange : 1115

With the Orange team (Asians) winning by a margin of 5 strokes.

Ali Sajut who is a bit rusty unfortunately lost to all and had to give one Srixon ball to each of the other participants which he sportingly did. Good try Ali ! We will see you on your next trip.

The winning team also had share of the spoils after deduction expenses.

The 2008 Trophy was also given away to Hj Ibrahim who won the trophy donated by Dato Aziz outright. Members should note that no points were given for the Al Jubail trophy competition.
