OUR MOTTO

“We play with friends but we don't play friendly game..”

Chronicle of KPMGA

by D. B Matzin

Started its inauguration early in 2006 under the unification of jovial golf nuts who labeled it then as FOM Club, bestowed in honour of senior founding fellow old men (FOM) who were often targets of provocative remarks by their fellow young men (FYM). Ridiculed by 'slanders and insults’ in a number of friendly grueling pastime undermining their capabilities, FOM took the juvenile fellow mates to punishing defeat. Concluded on par if not better hat-trick of victories proved that the old horse still yearns to run....... As more and more FYM joined the club that it began to change its identity. The nuts called it KPMGA to reflect the atmosphere and eccentricity of kampung way of sport. The 'association' grew from a tiny seed to a mighty nut.

If you think, you’re Golf Nut – this will be a venue for you to sprout!!!

Dream of kampung boys....

You will laugh to see this page when one day a KPMGA nut appears on your TV screen in PGA championship tours....ha...ha...

Novelty Game - 28th Nov 2010

Fellow KPMGA-ers,
What fun it was ! The novelty game was also a farewell to Sharbini (who is leaving SSB and moving to KL), Ali Sajut (who is retiring.....and his 3rd farewell) and Yusri (who is also leaving SSB and moving to.....tba...and his 2nd farewell).
We had 7 flights and played 9 holes. 3 flights playing the front 9 and 4 flights the back 9. The game was played with all participants only allowed to bring 5 iron clubs and a putter making 6 clubs in all. No driver, woods and hybrids. It was quite challenging for all. Tuan President with the guests as flightmates was the subject of some vehement grumblings as he was using a 2 iron which performed like a driver (according to the farewell flight mates). Nevertheless, as it was an iron, there were no grounds for any protest. Mr. Protest (@ Ali Sajut) is also leaving us.
The following are the results:

Front 9
1. Jamil playing 40 net
2. Shahrudin playing 41 net
3. Then playing 42 net

Back 9
1. Kamal playing 37 net
2. Tuan Presiden Haji Drahman playing 37 net (OCB)
3. Wan Zailah playing 38 net

Ladies
Nur Jannah playing 50 net.

Note that the high handicappers were all capped at 24. So 12 for 9 holes.

So to all Fellow KPMGA-ers, that is the last event for 2010. Watch out for more activities in 2011. Happy New Year to all and also the Muslim New Year falling on 7th Dec 2010.

Happy Golfing !

November 2010 Event

After a hiatus of many many moons, we have managed to complete an event......see info from Tuan Presiden below....

From Tuan Presiden....
"Albeit last minute pull out and also last minute entry, it was a full quorum. Biasa lah. The game ended with good beginning that saw some ‘new comers’ dressed like the pros. Snap-shots from BJ Sink (wonder if the pics are good…Lebih maklum kamera nok lama ya…) will be forthcoming. The champion of the revival had startled other contenders, little was known of his ranking in the KPMGA list and let alone his past record. Carded a sensational net score of 69 strokes, 3 under par of 72. What an achievement!!
Big congratulation to him….none other than BJ Song (aka Bojeng)……. Ignore his handicap…!!! Whatever, he played extremely well this time and could be his last standing on the podium – next round his teeth would no longer be sharper. However, I was in the same flight with him and recorded the scorecard. Hence, boleh percaya lah…

Below is the rest of the result.

2nd place (OCB): Sharudin – net 71 (Hcap 19) - Turning back to become ‘Buaya’
3rd place (OCB): Ismadi – net score 71 (Hcap 21) – Also another ‘Buaya’
4th place: Awang Bakar – net score 72 (Hcap 19) – Not in the category list of any alligator (Looks like a bona-fide one for time being)
5th place (OCB): Yusop Sahari – net score 75 (Hcap 13) – A real ‘pro’….tak ada tipu punya. Trust me score card vetted and audited by Hj. Wahab.
6th place (OCB): Ali Rahman – net score 75 (Hcap 26) – Steady player but weather dependent.

Till then, see you again for next gruelling game some time next month, hopefully the grand closing of the year..!!! May be followed by a fiesta ehhh!"

So fellow members, WATCH THIS SPACE !
